The wider REDA story starts with inventor Armais Arutunoff and a bold engineering question: could an electric motor drive a pump beneath the fluid it needed to lift? His early submersible-pumping work helped turn that idea into a practical technology.
In 1927, Phillips Petroleum applied his pumping concept in Oklahoma. Arutunoff’s work led to REDA Pump Company in Bartlesville in 1930. The name REDA came from Russian Electrical Dynamo of Arutunoff. Decades of development followed, and REDA became part of Schlumberger in 1998.
REDA RAK’s own story begins in 1977 in Ras Al Khaimah. Today, that local history sits alongside the broader REDA pumping heritage: a continuing focus on moving fluids, understanding operating conditions, and supporting equipment throughout its working life.
